Today, we announce that Web3 Foundation, the long-standing institution known for stewarding Polkadot, will invest part of its treasury into real-world assets via Centrifuge, beginning with a $1M pilot investment. This initiative is supported by Web3 Foundation as part of its strategic mission to promote Web3 projects through funding, advocacy and collaboration.

This partnership showcases Web3 Foundation's commitment to bringing real-world assets (RWAs) onchain as the demand and narrative for RWAs has become white hot. The investment will be made into Anemoy’s upcoming pool of US Treasury Bills on Centrifuge.

Real-world assets are one of the most-talked about themes in decentralized finance today. Boston Consulting Group projects that there will be a $16 trillion tokenization industry for global assets by the end of the decade. Centrifuge was an early pioneer in the RWA space and has marked many milestones for the industry.

Anemoy is the first real-world asset pool launching natively on Centrifuge Chain with tokenized short-term US treasuries. US T-bills offer a way for DAOs and other onchain investors to get access to highly-liquid, low-risk returns. Anemoy, a web3 native asset manager, was purpose-built to bring a diverse range of high quality assets to the Centrifuge platform.
