We’ve heard feedback that there’s confusion between Centrifuge and Wrapped Centrifuge — so we’re making a change. We’re consolidating wCFG and CFG into one name and ticker symbol so it’s easy to track and transact Centrifuge on Ethereum, Centrifuge Chain, and everywhere else Centrifuge launches!
CFG, the Centrifuge governance token, is based natively on Centrifuge, where it powers our onchain governance and transaction fees. CFG is also bridged to Ethereum, where it can be used on decentralized applications as well as supported by centralized exchanges like Coinbase. Currently, Centrifuge tokens on Ethereum are labeled as Wrapped Centrifuge (wCFG).
Over the next few weeks, we’ll be transitioning Wrapped Centrifuge and wCFG to be named Centrifuge and CFG across centralized and decentralized exchanges, block explorers, and token tracking sites like CoinGecko and CoinMarketCap.

What’s Wrapped Centrifuge?
Wrapped Centrifuge is an ERC-20 token on Ethereum backed 1:1 by CFG on Centrifuge Chain. We created Wrapped Centrifuge to facilitate CFG’s initial usability and liquidity within the Ethereum ecosystem.
What’s changing exactly with wCFG?
Only the name is changing from Wrapped Centrifuge (wCFG) to Centrifuge (CFG). There are no functional or tokenomic changes. We’re beginning this change with an update to the Trust Wallet Assets Repo, which affects how the token is displayed on Uniswap and in a few Ethereum wallets.
We will follow suit with updates on Etherscan and on trading pairs on centralized exchanges.
How do I move CFG between Centrifuge Chain and Ethereum?
Use the CFG Bridge to transfer CFG between Centrifuge and Ethereum. Do not send tokens from Ethereum <→ Centrifuge Chain directly (wallets and exchanges will not allow this as the address formats are different!).
Do I need to do anything with my wallet?
No action is required from token holders. The change is purely nominal and does not affect the tokens in your wallet.
